Chef Frost ft. Nadzmi's Recipe

ASSALAMUALAIKUM & GUTEN TAG

Alright guys, due to COVID-19. Everybody must remain at home and go out when necessary only. So, I made a decision to make full of my time by baking which the recipe come from Nadzmi, my baking partner. What I'm going to show you guys for now is how to make an apple pie. It doesn't take a long time to be made. Approximately in about only 1 hour until it is ready to be serve.

The ingredient for Apple Pie
The ingredients are :-

A part (Crust)
200g of wheat flour
1 tb of salt
110g of cold butter
1 egg yolk
50g/50 ml of cold water
Plastic bag (for chilling)

B part (Filling)
4 apples (peeled + sliced)
3/4 cups of sugar
2 tb of flour
1/2 tb of salt
1 tb of cinnamon powder
1 tb of nutmeg powder
A slice of lemon (squeezed)

1. Mix everything except the water in the mixer
2. When the dough is about to be mix, put all the water into the mixer.
3. After the dough is totally mixed, secure the dough into the plastic bag.
4. Put the bag into the refrigerator or the freezer in about 10 minutes to chill the dough.

I use a ziploc bag to chill the dough
B part (Filling)
1. Peel of the apples and sliced it or you can cut it into dices.
2. Put every ingredient into a bowl and mix everything together.
3. Make sure that all the ingredient are evenly mixed.

I forgot to peel the skin off and this is just an example

1. Take out the dough from the freezer
2. Use the first half and roll the dough until you get a nice thickness (not too thick, not too thin)
3. Put it into the mould that you want to use for the pie. (as the bottom layer)
4. Put the fillings into the mould as the bottom layer settled in.
5. Roll the second half of the dough like the first half.
6. Use the rolled dough as the cover on the top
7. Secure the dough using all necessary such as fork.
8. DO NOT FORGET TO MAKE A HOLE ON THE TOP. (for the apple ventilation)

This is my result...
Baking
1. Heat up the oven on 150 degrees Celcius
2. Brush egg yolk on the top of the pie for a great colour.
3. Put the pie into the oven and leave it on 150 degrees Celcius for 15 to 20 minutes or until the crust is brownish perfectly and cooked perfectly.
