My Life in ALAM

LIFE AT ALAM
So, it has been exactly 8 months from now since im studying in ALAM. My life has changed a total 360 degrees once I entered here. For instance, I’m the person who usually sleeps very late and wake up in the afternoon. I will have my breakfast during lunch and lunch during dinner. I will never exercise even if I have my free time. I chose this career because i wanted to prove people I can be independent on my own.

The journey has been rough for me, because Malaysian Maritime Academy is based on regimental system. Which means our daily routine will be almost the same as everyday. We have to wake up 5.30 in the morning and get ready for our physical training at 6am. Then we will have our breakfast at 6.30am. After that we will have to get ready for our morning colours. Classes starts at 8am and normally finishes at 5pm. At 5.15 we also have physical training and ends at 6.30pm. We will then have our dinner at 7pm and roll call at 9.45 pm. Lastly it’s lights off at 11pm and the routine starts again from Monday to Friday.
The journey was tough yet I survived. The key to your success is our determination we have towards our goal. As for me I will not give up until I achieve to be a vessel’s master. I have made new friends in ALAM as well. They helped me throughout the whole journey. In conclusion, giving up is never an option.
